When complete, this website will provide a comprehensive electronic archive of everything written by and about Joseph Warren. The website will launch with a fifth part of Joseph Warren’s corpus of work, then proceed roughly in chronological order to upload 1-2 documents per week until the archive is complete in two years. Included will be a number of new attributions, ‘discovery documents,’ otherwise hard-to-find items, and some documents heretofore only available by examining hard copy originals in person in dusty archives. "News" will call out compelling items each week.
Ordinarily, historians' and biographers' research is distilled into their publications, while the source data and notes they have painstakingly amassed remain inaccessible and are ultimately discarded. In situations like Warren's, where primary sources are relatively sparse and traditional hard copy compendia of them hard to justify, Dr. Forman's transcriptions and notes would remain unavailable. Harnessing the possibilities of the internet, Dr. Joseph Warren on the Web turns that situation on its head, making Joseph Warren source material, as amassed for his definitive biography, freely available to the world.
